Deviation Actions
To anyone who owns a cat that lives outdoors:
PLEASE keep your cats inside! I was on my way to the mall when a cat darted out in front of me. There was no time to react and I hit and killed it. I stopped not far from it and ran back, praying that it was still alive. (It's tail was flicking and I thought I saw it breathing.) But it was dead. I just stood there on the side of the road sobbing. The mail man and a gardener saw the whole thing and said that there was nothing I could have done. It still didn't make me feel any less like an abomination. The gardener picked the cat up out the road and placed it in a garbage can. Which made me feel even worse. All I can hope is that it was a stray and not someone's pet. I couldn't even bear to drive down that road on my way home for fear of seeing the pool of blood in the middle of the road. So please, I beg you to keep your cats inside. I fear that this will haunt me for a very long time.
(And if anyone who reads this thinks I was in anyway distracted, I wasn't. I wasn't on my phone or jamming to my music. Plus I was going the exact speed limit.)
